Over the years, veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini has stolen the hearts of the audiences with her evergreen beauty and versatile performances. While she was last seen on the big-screen in Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Shimla Mirchi in 2017, fans have been eagerly waiting for her return. Her husband Dharmendra had recently made the headlines for locking lips with Shabana Azmi in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. When asked if she too would kiss for a movie, she explained that she would.
In an interview with India.com the 74-year-old actress was asked if she would accept a similar kind of role like her husband in the Karan Johar directorial. Talking about the same she explained that she would definitely take it up if it goes well with the script. Quoted by India Today, the actress, who hasn’t yet watched the movie, laughingly said, “Kyun nahi karenge, bilkul karenge. For the unversed, the lip lock between Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi had taken the internet by storm. While some frowned at their reunion scene, many lauded them for shedding any inhibitions regarding their age and broke many stereotypes. Reacting to all the hype the 87-year-old actor, at the press conference has said, “Captain accha ho to team khub kheti hai. When I heard the story, I felt this was something new. I enjoyed every bit of working with this unit. Talking about the romantic-drama, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani follows the journey of Rocky Randhawa and Rani Chatterjee, who hail from contrasting family backgrounds. The movie marks the directorial comeback of Karan Johar and stars Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and many more in pivotal roles.
